Mireille Weber | GR
Dalcroze Technique
Since her childhood, Mireille Weber has been drawn to all art forms – music, dance, theatre, drawing. Dalcroze training was a natural consequence of these interests, and allowed her to associate and develop these different expressive forms. In 1967 she obtained the licentiate of the method Jaques-Dalcroze, and a diploma of psychomotricity in1968.
Since then, she has taught initiation in music, eurhythmics and solfège at the Institute Jaques-Dalcroze, to students of all levels. She was dean of children’s and amateur adults’ classes for eight years, during which she created and introduced eurhythmics classes for children with their parents.
She was also involved in professional studies (HEM) with pedagogy seminars and singing classes for the students. Throughout her career, she has regularly presented a large number of productions with her children’s classes, illustrating the relationship between music and movement. She has created many choreographies and eurhythmics presentations.
Mireille Weber studied singing and participated in different classes of interpretation with renowned conductors or singers. She began her singing career in the professional choirs of the « Grand Théâtre » of Geneva. Afterwards, she sang for several years with the Vocal Ensemble of Lausanne, conducted by Michel Corboz. As soloist, she has sung a large part of the oratorio repertoire in Switzerland as well as overseas.
In 2004 her choir participated in the production of « Enfants du Levant », opera written by Isabelle Aboulker, at the Grand Théâtre in Geneva. With the collaboration of musicians from the three music schools of the Geneva Federation, she also produced a children’s opera « Douce et Barbe Bleue », written by isabelle Aboulker. Apart from the preparation of the choir, she also was responsible for staging, scenography, costumes and accessories.
