Miku Tsuchiya | Japan

Biography

Miku Tsuchiya, originally from Shizuoka, Japan, is currently based in Japan where she works as a freelance dance artist. She holds BA in Dance (Contemporary Dance and Choreography) from University of Calgary (Calgary, Canada), and MA in Creative Practice from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (London, UK).

As a dancer, she was part of the Canada based contemporary dance company, W&M Physical Theatre, where she has danced in various projects and festivals in Canada, Poland, and the United States since 2009. Also, she has worked with a number of international artists in Canada, UK, Hong Kong, and Japan. As a choreographer, she has presented her works in Canada, UK, Hong Kong, and Japan.

For the past few years, she also worked in interdisciplinary projects that combined dance with visual art and film.
